Land Surveyor
Job Description
This person will be a member of a team that performs land survey related duties. This team member will take pride in their work and have a passion for improving the quality of life within our communities through our infrastructure projects. This team member will need excellent communication skills to work with other team members including, designers, engineers, and clients.
Responsibilities
- Have experience in construction layout and methods
- Have the ability to perform topographic surveys
- Have an understanding of boundary and easement related surveys
- Have an understanding of subdivision plats and legal descriptions
- Ability to perform calculations related to survey activities
- Ability to read plan sets and extract necessary information
- Be in good physical health and able to work long hours
- Perform quality control reviews, both on self-work and work performed by others
- Identify opportunities to improve work-flow and efficiencies within the company
- Have a good work ethic and a willingness to learn and share ideas
- This position does not require licensing, but would be beneficial
Experience
- Ability to operate a robotic total station and data collector
- Ability to operate a GPS data collection system
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-year degree/certificate from technical school or college preferred
- Minimum of 2-years’ experience in land survey, construction layout
