NW Tyler Street Reconstruction

SBB Engineering performed the design of the NW Tyler Street reconstruction project from NW Paramore St. to NW Lyman Rd. For funding purposes, the project was phased into two separate years, with Phase 1 being from NW Lyman Rd. to NW Beverly Rd. in 2022. SBB led a public engagement effort that included neighborhood meetings and recapped the goals of North Topeka West neighborhood plan. The public engagement effort also included developing a project website that provided updates throughout construction. SBB coordinated relocation efforts with AT&T, Kansas Gas, Evergy, Cox Communication, City of Topeka WPC, and designed the replacement of an 8” water main along the project. 

SBB Engineering also worked with the City of Topeka, the Complete Streets Advisory Committee, and KDOT to assist with the Transportation Alternatives grant that funded the NW Tyler Shared Use Path. SBB Engineering designed a new trail connection from this Shared Use Path to the existing Solider Creek Trail to expand the local bike and trail network.
